Question- Air Travel w/ Dive Knives?

Hi all,
I'm off to Thailand on Tuesday and was wondering if I should pack my dive knife in my checked luggage or not. I see LAX will allow it, but will my connecting flights to Thailand? Has anybody had experience with that or give me some advice? I'd really appreciate it!
