Each year the USC Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber offers a limited number of classes to divers wishing to increase their knowledge and skills beyond what is covered in most recreational dive training classes, even instructor training. Any diver, at any level, who wishes to expand their understanding of diving physics, physiology, decompression, accident management, and hyperbaric treatment, can sign up for any of the following classes:

- Emergency Diving Accident Management (EDAM)
Offered two times in 2006 on March 19-24 and July23-28

- Emergency Response Diver (ERD)
Offered once in 2006 on October 22-27
