I agree with you, that GUE-divers are buddy dependent. Same as PADI divers are.

In the case of this particular diver, lets call him "Paul," his buddies did not work for him.

I give him credit for riding out the Type-1 symptoms. He was brave to do that.

However if he were smart he would have had 2 of everything for a deco dive. :-)
