We took our boat out today and got caught in some unexpected high winds out at Anacapa. The cove was dead calm when we anchored, mild wind as we suited up, turned to gale (35 kts) as the minutes ticked by. We were lucky we didn't actually anchor and descend 10 or 15 minutes earlier because it got UGLY, and got that way fast!

We heard some dive boats communicating on the VHS as we were fighting our way home. We were curious if there were any divers in the water when the wind picked up. We hope everyone is OK because today really caught us off guard. Even when we got home and checked on line NWS was still saying 10 - 15 kt. winds...BZZZZZT....try 35!!

Again...hope everyone else who was out today is OK. And I am seriously thankful for a very seaworthy boat!!
