Posted by Dr. Bill Bushing on January 22, 2006 at 19:26:08: Sunday. Perfect day to go to Church Rock with Scuba Luv's King Neptune. Was filming zoanthids parasitizing gorgonians as well as lobster in legal commercial traps when I sensed the presence of something big near by. The landlord? No, it didn't seem dangerous. Had no idea what it was and never saw anything. When I came up (I had been filming just below the swim step of the boat), I was asked if I'd seen the juvenile grey whale. The darned thing had been probably 30 ft away from me yet my back was turned to it and the kelp would have obscured it as well. Darn... would have been awesome footage!
