I've done a bit over four hundred dives in the last four years, and the ones that scare me the most are the ones in current. My worst nightmare is current at night with a Divemaster looking the wrong way, or not looking at all...been there and had to swim like mad to the tip of San clemente just barely making it before I would have been blown out to wherever!

A whistle works, as does an inflatable tube, but the best device has to be the good judgement not to even make the dive!
