i was on the Cortes Bank a couple years ago swmimming on the wreck and the surrounding area. When i got in the water the kelp was just laying on the surface on the high plain.

i completed my dive and as i was taking off my suit, i watched the current come up on the bank and lay the kelp down...within 10 minutes there was no kelp on the surface. when i looked through the window, the kelp was laying sideways and streaming in the current. i have swam out there at night when the swells were so large that you had to wait for a few rollers to sync up in order to see the light on the skiff, but when i saw how fast that current came up, i have to admit, it was a little disconcerting...

i can only imagine how lonely it would be on that bank without your boat...
