| Panulirus penicillatus, Red Spiny Lobster at Isla del Coco, Costa Rica |

On my recent trip to Cocos Island aboard the Sea Hunter I encountered many lobster on almost every dive. Because Cocos Island (Isla del Coco) is a reserve, most of the lobster were large. The average size was probably about 4 lbs. with ones in 10+ lb. range seen almost everyday. ![]() Red Spiny Lobster (Panulirus penicillatus) Night Dive at Isla Manuelita; December 25, 2005
