I mount mine on my octo hoses so I'll always know where it is and its within reach when you need it. Not prone to getting caught on kelp and it stays put in its sheath. They are inexpensive and really good at cutting line and rope. Have also used them to pry off rock scallops, but not recommended as they will bend (but can be straightened out in a vise). Have one for each of my regs.
