Some pals and I did a night dive there around 8pm and the windss were still terrible. The surf was even worse and breaking in three rows, making three surf zones. Half the group didn't get through but my buddy and I did, and it was like riding a rollercoaster across the swells.

Sadly, it turned out to be the most enjoyable part of the dive- it was fairly unremarkable at depth, thought I did see an octopus with a tennis ball-sized body and did catch one lobster.
