There is allot less drag with the BP & wing. I love mine for that reason. Although some might argue that a jacket style BC is safer because it will float an unconsious diver with his/her face out of the water. I find that with a steel BP and steel tank I float vertically and feel safe & comfortable with my Halcyon set up with Faber 108 cf steel tank. Reef Seekers will rent you one if you want to try it. That's how I made my choice. Good luck!
