Posted by Brooke on February 24, 2006 at 20:12:30: Mother Jones magazine has a series of great articles on how we are pushing the oceans to the brink of extinction. http://www.motherjones.com/news/featurex/2006/03/oceans_index.html The truth is that our No.1 problem is declining marine and coastal water sediment quality. And that's mainly to do with the way we use the land. It's quite an odd thing but the biggest problem for our oceans is us for a start and the way we are managing the catchments on our land. And I think the second thing is we're losing an awful lot of habitat. Marine and coastal habitat. Check out the articles for more information.
