How crowded it is will depend on the shop you charter through - also, lots of newbies will clutter any boat. My personal favorite in Ventura is the Spectre because of the cubbies, Capt. Ted and crew, and the BBQ lunch. I also feel safest on this boat as its built for rough seas and Capt. Ted has about the most experience you could ask for - you'll appreciate this if you ever have to return in 19 foot seas. The Explorer can be crowded - it caters to hunters and Tony definitely knows where to find the fish. I like it with 15 to 20 people, but you do need to get accustomed to a crowded deck area at more than 20.
