wow, where to begin? What part of Cali? I cant give much advise for central or northern Cali, but you still have your choices down here! Sothernmost part of Cali, San Diego has a purpose sunk Canadian destroyer sitting on sand bottom @~100' along with some other wrecks called Wreck Ally. Beach diving you can hit up La Jollya down by San Diego, I recomend Catalina Island just south of Los Angeles Farnsworth Banks on the backside of the island is deep but beautifull with good vis (not true when I was there last month...) Slightly further north, I highly recomend the Channell Islands. That should get the ball rolling for ya.

Good luck and welcome!
