As an outdoorsman, i respect his ability to thrive in such a dangerous and unhospitable environment. He loved being and had no need for a guide or entourage. He may have been a little egocentric, but he earned that right...And until someone has done what he has done, they have no business criticizing him.

I have read a lot of criticism of Timmothy Treadwell, but mostly from people who's biggest adventure of the year was to fall asleep on the sofa in their living room...


What do you say about the private pilot who flew for 13 years without incident, then one day flies into the ground? When should he have stopped....?
