My personal expereince from a rescue class of past is that its cumbersome (at best) to ditch and don a WI-BC...remember the struggle to get it back on while my body was trying to float skyward! A couple of years ago I had to remove my BC midway thru a dive at about 60' to fix a problem with my first stage - thanks to those bailout exercises with LA County I had "evolved" back to a belt, so it was effortless.
