Lobsters carrying eggs “in season” information |
Posted by Andy S on March 10, 2006 at 07:41:28:
As a lot of divers read this BB, I thought I’d specifically ask about seeing females carrying eggs in lobster season. While I have never seen it, others certainly have. I think it would be of interest in learn about this. Specifically, I’d like to know when (time of year and year if you remember), where (general terms, e.g. front side of Catalina as I don’t expect anyone to give away their spots), water temp and depth. Any other insights appreciated. Also, if you have spent a lot of time bug diving and have not seen this, that would be interesting to hear to get some sense of the frequency of this phenomenon. I'll also check with the commerical guys as they see a lot more bugs then we do and let you know what I learn. |
