Check the forecast extra carefully and watch for any Santa Ana conditions in SoCal - can change the anchorage dramatically. One hour calm, the next a raging sea and slipped anchor.

Try to get someone who can singlehandle the boat and doesn't mind staying topside in case the conditions change - check with a sailing / boating club like Marina Sailing for crew.
