The extension tubes work with the 35mm and the 28mm lenses, they are not designed for the 20. The 20mm might work with the close up kit - I suspect that the limiting factor is the size of the close up kit attachment.

I believe that with the actual extension tubes the plane of focus would change to so close to the lens that it would be difficult to use. Yes, the depth of field would be greater with a 20mm lens.

The best way to figure out modifications if no one has a recipe is in the sink or bath tub. Extension tubes can be fun, you can stack them etc.
