Great movie / photos with some freediving |

We were lucky enough to attend the showing of Ashes and Snow at the Santa Monica Pier this weekend. There was some incredible free diving shots in it- including free diving with sperm whales, manatee, and yes elephants of all things. It is set in many locales and is part of a photo exhibit by Gregory Colbert. The photography is so rare , that we didn't believe it wasn't superimposed or edited until we saw the hour long film that goes with it-The still shots are unenhanced from a camera and the movies (there's 3 - 2 are only 10 minutes long)show mostly water shots - many only waste deep with people interacting with animals like whales, cheetahs, eagles, etc. - most are too fantastic to seem real. Anyone that's into photography or water will love this exhibit. It runs until May 14, but admission is $15.00. It seems like a small price once you finish the experience. It took us about 2 hours to do the photos and movies, in a 'temporary museum' that's 56 feet tall and made of railroad cars stacked into a checkerboard sculpture- a work of art in itself. It's at the Santa Monica pier and for more info you can go to www.ahesandsnow.com
