I also rented equipment from Seasport Divers when I was there. There are any number of good shore dives -- sort of depends on what part of the island you'll be on. On the south side near Poipu, Koloa Landing is a pretty standard spot for OW checkouts etc -- sort of like Shaw's or Vet's here. There are also nice spots on the north shore. Ni'ihau Island is rated really good diving by lots of folks if you can book a boat trip through one of the ops.
