I'm not convinced that boat diving on Kona has much to offer over shore diving. The water gets deep pretty quick so the boat wind up close to the shore :-) We had a great time there a few years ago doing beach dives and we're going to try it again in a month.

It takes a 4WD and a little work, but I really recommend that you give Manuka Bay a try.
