While I prefer to dive on boats without spearfishers present, I do not mind if there are some on board (as long as they follow the rules and stay away from the subjects I'm filming!).

Good spearfishers can be very careful about what they target relative to species, size limits, and numbers taken. I see no problem with them fishing this way IF they are using the fish for food.

On the other hand, I don't tolerate divers who spear fish illegally... or just for the "sport" of it. These generally are in the minority on the boats I dive.
