Tho $400 a month to boat dive every weekend is definitely something my wife would take issue with. *g* But I could probably get away with once a month... maybe more, over time. Aside from that, I agree with you, but the cheap bastard in me really does enjoy beach diving. And it takes up way less of my day than schlepping down to the harbor or up to Ventura, which makes the wife happy as well. :)

I'll have to look into the Whalers Group. I met with the Hollywoodivers group... they're my LDS, so I like them, but a lot of people in that tiny group are a LOT older than me with a LOT more money and vacation time (and $) to burn on exotic trips to galapagos, etc., so it was hard to find a lot in common.
