dont think too much into it. not all parts are created equal. through mass production there will be a few that performs spec. but after years of usage, which certainly is the case of ur MK10, the body has experienced metal fatigue. it could also be over torqued of the HP cap, HP hoses, or even stress lesions caused by the over torquing the yoke nut. as a scubapro tech, i've seen a few incidences where 1st stage bodies show metal fatigue, but usually on older models (MK5 & MK10). so just replace the body and u'll have a working MK10 that will last for another 15 yrs. usually 2nd stage body cracks r due to rough handling, ie. frequent banging/dragging on rocks.
