This could be as easy as your color calibration for the monitor you're using. "Right Click" on an empty space on your desktop. Select the "Properties" from the pop-up menu. Click on the "Settings" tab, and then click on the "Advanced" button. Next, click on the "Color Management" tab. If there isn't a color profile there, or the profile there doesn't indicate your current monitor/display, then you need to install the drivers for your monitor/display. If it already has your monitor/display selected as the "Default"... never mind...
But try this first. This has fixed many peoples "color" problems. All the negative (no pun intended) crap about your scanner is just crap. But what Chris had to say about having someone else scan your stuff is a pretty good idea. Mainly because it will eat up a lot more time than you could imagine.
