Nice coverage of the history, but there are a few weak spots.
The most of the abalone up there can't be gotten to. There just isn't access. There are still a lot of them.
I hate to say it but on the North Coast deeper than about 30 feet, it's dim a lot of the time and really not much kelp grows.
Abalone start getting thin much deeper than that. There are some abs at 80 feet, but not many and they've never seemed
like they were that big.
Just to clear up a little. Nice story though.
