The red tide is back in Santa Monica Bay! The water looks like tomato soup. We took the boat around to Buchannan's, near Marineland, hoping to find cleaner water. No such luck, the rusty water was all the way around the point. I drop in to see what conditions were like at depth - not too bad, vis about 10+ feet, but very dark. The second dive at the same site was totally different, the red tide had moved offshore and we were rewarded with great vis and lots of light. The two dives were like day and night.

Saw lots of nudibranchs, nothing new.

Oh, yes, my computer read 51 degrees - bloody cold!
