If I still owned a shop it sounds like selling the DIR stuff would be a good thing for my business.
Problem is with that is I don't believe it is a good thing. That is because what matters more is what is the reputation of the shop and employees. That's paramount in business before what brand of gear you sell.
I have read on the DIR site you don't need to buy a specific brand of gear as long as it conforms to their requirement for the classes. There are lots of people making plates, wings, fins, etcetera that are accepted for DIR.
So for DIR to be the shill for a specific brand I say horse - puckey.
