Color Matching a Garibaldi |
Posted by Elaine on April 29, 2006 at 16:09:19: I've been painting the interior of the house. A decorator picked the colors. I'm happy with everything except an apricot/rose type color in the kitchen. I want to wake up every morning and see garibaldis - not puka mauve. I've been searching the paint chip racks for a color similar to a garibaldi. My garibaldi photos aren't uniform enough to get a good color reading. I wish Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams, or the Home Depot could carefully borrow a garibaldil, put him in a color matching machine, and then carefully put him back. Most of the kelp forest colors are tough to match up in paint stores. A line of California underwater paint colors would make my life so much easier. There is a tropical reef palate, but nothing for the kelp forest. If anyone knows the paint formula for "garibaldi orange" please let me know.
