We have had several great dives there. Some local friends recommended October, which we found had excellent vis - 50 to 60 feet - and warmer temperatures. We followed one of the old sardine pipes out to a fantastic metridian field.

Also, its worth making a reservation for Point Lobos - its pretty protected and ranks as the world's easiest entry (boat ramp!) We had mixed vis - first dive was great - maybe 30 feet or so, but a charter boat came into the cove and the classes really stirred up the vis for our second dive - was OK, though at about 15 feet.

As with any beach dive, if the conditions stink, go get something to eat! (Turtle Bay is one of our favorites).

Enjoy (WE did!)
