I'm all for making the water safer but the government doesn't have the best track record on these sorts of things. I can see this as another way for the gov't to tax boaters. After all, everyone who owns a boat by definition is rich, right?

Also, remember how much fun going to the DMV is? The last thing I want is more dealings with them.

Other than protecting the country and keeping the roads up, I'm voting for less government, not more.
