Last weekend I dove Sea Fan Grotto for the first time in many months. I was disturbed to find even more damage to the "sea fans" (gorgonians) growing on the walls. There were more than a dozen intact gorgonians broken off at their base and lying on the bottom.

I just wanted to pass the word to those who DM or conduct classes on dive boats to please remind your divers to exercise great caution and good buoyancy control when diving this site. Due to the shallow depths (15-30 ft) where the gorgonians are concentrated, it is easy for divers to lose control or bob in the surge.

We all want to see this site continue to be an attraction for future divers!
