I prefer Santa Cruz and Anacapa islands over Catalina, Santa Barbara, and San Nicolas islands. However, my favorite isle is San Clemente - many great dives on the G.E. there, plus Captain Tim is a really nice guy.

I like the Spectre because of its great BBQ lunch (tri-tip / chicken); individual gear cubbies - definitely not crowded on deck; Captain Ted, Scott, Billy and the crew; and the hot tub (only other boat, the Peace, has one). It does not have a dedicated camera area like the GE; most photographers use the forward galley's tables. Suggestion: ask for the all inclusive deal (air, food and non alcoholic drinks are included).
