8000 hours underwater, wow! That would be like 10,000 recreational dives figuring single tank dives average under an hour.
I do boat repair and maintenance and spend a lot of time out at Spud Point Marina on C dock working on the NOAA boat. I know many of the fishermen out there including George Petty and his dad who where urchin divers. They have some stories.
I am always fascinated by the stories you guys tell. Spending that many hours underwater you must've seen some stuff man, especially on the North Coast.
