Yeah, that's what I'm pretty much saying, Split fins suck for freediving. The reason I mentioned that is because the guy asked about split fins for freediving.
Personally (IN MY OPINION) for me, they also suck for scuba diving. I got caught in a current and couldn't get enough traction to make any headway. It was a pretty freaky experience.
I know some people really love them and I've seen all the reports about air consumption and kicking cycles etc. but I must have a different finning technique because for me they are like
having two strands of spaghetti on my feet that just flop around and do nothing.
But if you like them and they work great for you more power to you.
