It's funny that my last trip to Santa Cruz Island had some serious Santana wind action and it was fairly impressive. Still, it just does not compare to a real North Coast Wind. They can smash into you. I used to throw a piece of ice plant off the cliff to get an idea how strong the wind was. If it fell, that was OK. If it flew up and over the cliff, think about it. If it flew up, smacked you in the face and took off over your head, dive another day.
It's just a place that if you think about it, you wish you were there.
