Based on the Elaine's emotional response to Mike's post about the Sea Divers trip, it was pretty clear to me that she wasn't reacting to the words in front of her, but his history on this board. Fair enough. But it completely derailed a discussion that should have happened. So, if you'll indulge me, I'd like to bring up the salient points I thought were interesting, namely:


Even if a dive is performed at "recreational limits" can it actually be "technical dive" instead?

What are the risk/benefits of mixed gas vs. diving deep on air?

In reporting on advanced - albeit recreational - dives, what responsibility (if any) does the poster have to communicate the risks of such diving?

Again, it's a shame that discussion never really had a chance to happen. If someone wants to take another stab at it, I'd love to hear the different points of view, minus the rancor please.....
