Actually, I WAS being negative about one thing - that the discussion got derailed. I'm more mad at the situation than at Elaine. I don't agree with how she chose to react, but I think I do understand why.

For the record, I have tremendous respect for her and her contributions to the SoCal diving community. I can also say the same for Mike. But guess what, I don't always agee with him or his actions either. However, I do believe in rewarding "good behavior". I believe in second chances.

Mike's original post was appropriate, non-inflamatory, and raised some salient and important points for discussion. I would like to think that we, as a community, are capable of letting go of whatever grievances we've been holding dear to our hearts all these years for the common good.

Sorry if this sounds like a Rodney King moment, but a girl can dream, can't she?
