Just thought I'd share the fantastic experience I had diving from the Magician today... Started off the day with a dive at Isthmus Reef. Near the end of the dive the whole kelp forest darted into the kelp and sure enough, two small yellowtail followed. My first time seeing wild yellowtail while on SCUBA, very cool. Then, as if I hadn't seen enough cool stuff today we find a juvenile giant black sea bass at the lobster/invert reserve! This guy was hunting in the sand right next to a bunch of huge bat rays. To wrap up this dive there was a nice school of sardines and mackerel next to the boat. Teriffic diving!

We bothered it for about 10 minutes then decided to leave it to its hunting...

Saw what appeared to be about a full size pink abalone too, good signs of recovering species today.
