By his experience and what he's witnessed over the years (especially Pre-DIR Days in that early Northeast Wreck Diving Scene --Darwinian, Dog-Eat-Dog, every Man for Himself), he's earned the right to be an authority on relating on how others should safely dive.

What you see as insecurity & intrusive disrespect Chris . . .I view it as MHK's ardent but rational conviction to the DIR Philosophy.
