It's right there in the news article you posted. It said, "The aquarium paid the government a $2,060 fine...". No worries. I'm sure the gov't sent the money right over to the CA DFG, Marine Mammal Rescue, or some other agency that has the sea lions in their best interest.

Haven't you ran over a dog with your car or hit a bird or something? Have you ever done the wrong thing to a little home aquarium and accidently killed all the fish? Accidents happen. It's sad, but shouldn't be devastating or career ending.

The article said that they were just bathed an hour ago. Unless there is some sort of protocol on sea lion spray down that they were trained for and purposely disobeyed, they weren't "apparently negligent".

I amazes me how we read the same article and see it so differently. Oh well, I guess that is what makes this country great.

Bet you'll disagree with me on that last sentence, too :-)
