2006 Dive-a-Thon: Explore a reef you've never seen! Conduct a research dive! Try out that new BCD you bought last summer and haven't used yet! Go on an underwater photo safari!

Make any excuse to go diving in August ... and earn points to win prizes worth thousands of dollars!
The 2nd Annual Dive-a-Thon Registration begins TODAY and ends July 31st! The tax-deductible registration fee is $25 and includes a FREE event t-shirt. The online registration is simple and takes less than 5 minutes.

Similar to a walk-a-thon ... Dive-a-Thon participants set a personal diving goal for the month of August and seek financial pledges from friends and family. But instead of treading along a dry, hot road to raise money for a cause, divers get to explore the magical world of our oceans to support marine-based programs.

Prizes are awarded based on points: Each $1 raised earns you 2 points. Each 1 minute logged earns you 1 point.
Last year's event raised $19,000 for the San Diego Oceans Foundation's marine science and fisheries enhancement programs. This year we hope to raise $50,000 to help expand these volunteer and diving programs.
