The currents are why it is such a nice site. All of the most lush sites in California are subject to strong currents. The currents bring the food that feeds the life that make the sites lush. They go hand in hand.
Think about great sites; the San Miguel pinnacles, the west end of San Miguel, Catalina, & San Clemente Isalnds, Begg Rock, Farnsworth, Tanner, and Cortes Banks. All of theese spots are normally subject to strong currents. Yey they are some of the best spots to dive when you can dive them. It is becasue they are all well fed.
