Posted by scottfiji on August 02, 2006 at 10:34:02: 7 of us had a great weekend at La Bufadora (near Ensenada, Mexico). Really nice vis, lots of life. Shore Dive: "The Arch" black-n-yellow Rockfish Octopus, goby Senorita, Sunflower star Baitfish (most likely Anchovies) being chased by Yellowtail Gopher Rockfish Sunflower star trying to eat 2 Hopkin's Roses First Boat Dive: Submerged Pinnacles Baitfish 2 Blue-ringed Top Snails Baitfish blocking the sun Cadlina luteomarginata Nudibranch Two sets of nudibranch eggs Slower-moving baitfish, Jack Mackeral Rockfish and some kelp Archidoris odhneri nudibranch, laying eggs Sean. My Strobe set off sean's strobe THe Jack Mackerel continued to pass us Sean took this photo, this fish thought he was a dog, it kept trying to nuzzle sean. My strobe didn't work on the 2nd boat dive, Candlesticks. I managed a photo of this nudibranch. The dive was nice though! Atagema alba nudibranch 2nd Day, 1st dive: Eagle Reef. Vis was over 60ft below 100ft depth. Lingcod Finger sponge and brittle stars Sea Fan and brittle stars Canary Rockfish 7-armed Bat Star THe last dive was at little white rock. The site was surgy in the shallows, but full of life. 7 Nudibranchs eating a sponge Monterey's Dorid Gopher Rockfish Sean, Penny, myself, Kalani, Billy Some surf near the shore This is how "the arch" is dove from shore. suds formed from the waves crashing La Bufadora at sunset. Note how the ocean and clouds merge together, I've never seen that before. Sunset Almost dark
