I know a place just in Santa Barbara called Mesa Lane - it's at the end of Mesa Lane and has 250 steps down - it's pretty much a staircase at the end of a culdesac straight down to the dive site. If this is the staircase the reef is off to the left of the staircase and goes I think all the way down to Deer Creek- it's called Mohawk reef? If I'm not mistaken. Enter at the left of the stairs about 50 ft - surfers are at the end of the stairs - so you can tell that's not the entry - The surf can be flat and only 1-2 feet. If it's bigger than 2-3 the vis will suck - even 2-3 is questionable- it's a small cove-The reef is about 100 feet out to the left can't miss it - it's all sand otherwise and can be a good dive on a clear, calm day.
