I carry a camera on almost every dive (Nikonos RS, two SB-104
strobes -- a dive buddy once referred to it as "Battlestar
Cameractica". I don't have to lay on the bottom to get good
pictures. Buoyancy control, buoyancy control, buoyancy control.

Proof -- see: http://www.ncups.org/beach/bdpc2006/index.html
Two firsts, a third, and an honorable mention. Take a look at
the 1st in wide-angle -- I was hovering about 3" off a silty
bottom that would have created a lot of self-induced backscatter
had I touched it.

And remember that in Monterey, there's no lee side of the island.
