The Marine Life Protection Act Blue Ribbon Task Force will be
holding a meeting in Burbank on Sept. 6. I've put a link to the
agenda below. While the agenda doesn't specifically address
SoCal, IIRC, SoCal will be the next area the BRTF considers, and
the BRTF will hear about recommended process changes that will
affect the SoCal process. If you plan to get involved in this,
I'd suggest listening in to the webcast.
