Chuck, I'm not familiar with where your moorings are to be placed, but there very definitely would be a liability aspect with regard to moorings on Farnsworth.

The potential for collision with one or more unlit, private buoys in a navigable waterway as heavily traveled as the backside of Catalina is would be pretty high. The liability and who would be responsible (legally & liability-wise) would be the long pole in the tent. The feds and the state won't take it on (or never have in the past). I'm not willing to shoulder it either.

Are you?

What is the story on the mooring(s) you're looking to place? Is it out in the heavily traveled maritime corridors or at the edge of a rocky point or kelp bed?

Stay wet.
