Surface intervals in deco diving are currently a cutting edge issue. Everyone seems to have an opinion of their own.

The TDI opinion (in their literature) is that repetitive deco diving should not be attempted.

The PADI-DSAT opinion is that surface intervals should be 3 hours and that no diving should be done deeper than 180 ft.

The NAUI-TEC opinion is that surface intervals should be 3 hours and subsequent deco dives should be at least 33 ft shallower, and no dives should be deeper than 250 ft.

I would love to hear John’s opinion of surface intervals, instead of the rant(s).
